Finding Dental Coverage Shouldn’t Be Complicated
Learn which low-income and government-funded dental programs you qualify for and how Ross Creek Dental helps you apply with confidence.
Dental Care Shouldn’t Be a Luxury
If you’ve ever delayed a dental visit because of cost, you’re not alone.
Across Fort Saskatchewan and Alberta, thousands of people go without essential oral care simply because they don’t know what coverage is available or how to access it.
That’s exactly why Ross Creek Dental is here. We guide patients through low-income and government dental programs like the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), so you can receive the care you deserve without financial stress.
Whether you’re a senior, a parent, or simply between jobs, we help you understand your options—and take the guesswork out of getting started.
What Is the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?
Launched by the federal government in 2024, the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) aims to provide low- or no-cost dental care to individuals and families who don’t have private insurance.
Here’s how the CDCP works:
100% coverage if your household income is under $70,000
60%–40% partial coverage for incomes between $70,000–$89,999
No coverage for incomes above $90,000
Available only if you don’t have private insurance
Must be a Canadian resident with a valid SIN
Must have filed taxes for the previous year
The program is being rolled out in phases by age group, with full availability expected by 2025.
What Does the CDCP Cover?
The CDCP focuses on preventive and essential dental services. At Ross Creek Dental, we align our services to match what the program covers, including:
- Exams, X-rays, and cleanings
- Fillings, sealants, and extractions
- Root canals and dentures
- Periodontal care (gum treatments)
- Limited coverage for crowns and sedation (requires preauthorization)
We’ll walk you through exactly what’s covered in your case and make sure you know what if anything you may be responsible for financially.
How Much Will You Need to Pay?
Coverage levels depend on your household income:
Annual Income | Coverage | You Pay |
Under $70,000 | 100% | $0 |
$70,000–$79,999 | 60% | 40% of cost |
$80,000–$89,999 | 40% | 60% of cost |
Many patients are surprised to learn they still owe something. That’s why we always explain your co-payment up front—and help you plan for it with flexible payment options when needed.
Do You Qualify? Here’s What You Need
You may qualify for CDCP if:
You live in Canada and have a valid SIN
You have no private dental coverage
Your adjusted family income is under $90,000
You’ve filed taxes last year
You fall within the eligible rollout group
If you’re unsure, our admin team will help verify your eligibility during your booking.
What Services Require Preauthorization?
Not all services are automatically covered. Some require government approval before treatment begins. These may include:
- Sedation dentistry
- Custom dentures or crowns
- Surgical extractions
- Extensive restorative work
Our team handles all paperwork for you—so you’re never left navigating the system alone.

Real Patients. Real Relief.
“Professional, helpful and friendly staff. I highly recommend them if you have dental anxiety. It was a very good experience and I felt very comfortable being in the chair. All the costs printed off for me pre-op (x2 emergency extractions) and no surprises on the end bill. Thank you for getting me in asap!!”
“Being a patient at Ross Creek Dental is incredibly refreshing! As someone who has mild (okay, major) dread about going to the Dentist, the people there really know how to make you feel more at ease (and overall, less terrified). From the reception to the hygienists to the dentists, every single person is friendly, competent, and thoughtful. They truly care about your comfort and health.”
“When it comes to dental work I become a bit of a weenie anticipating pain and torture. However, all the experiences with Ross Creek Dental have been painless over the 15 years I have going there. Dr. Karrache does amazing dental work and all the assistants, hygienists, and front-end staff are wonderful as well. If you have to go to a dentist (and we all do), make it this one!”
